ckck:
Having recently had to buy new outrageously expensive blades for my Gillette Fusion Vibrating Quadruple Bypass Extreme Sport razor (or whatever it’s called), I went back to thinking I really should get myself a proper old-school safety razor instead, the kind your grandfather had all his life. They use the traditional double-edged, stainless steel razorblades, and you can buy enough of them to last you a decade for less than the cost of four new razorblades for the latest Gillette gimmick (they don’t even make safety razors anymore).
Sure, the handle costs a little bit more, but if you take care of it it can outlast you, which even makes it an environmentally-friendly choice. The all-steel razorblades are certainly far more recyclable too compared to the newer types.
Can’t go wrong with a nice safety razor. It really does give a nice shave and razor burn isn’t so much a problem anymore. I found a pretty old safety razor in my grandpa’s effects, never used and still in it’s original packaging. I thought about using that one but I instead went with a new razor from a company called Goodfella out of New Zealand. They’re make pretty solid shavers; nice, somewhat-modern styling on a solid piece of hardware.
